NYPD searching for man who assaulted food vendor, threw milk crate, traffic cones at him

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are looking for a man who they say assaulted a food vendor near Times Square last week after a verbal dispute turned physical.

The incident occurred on May 14 around 6:15 p.m. when the man approached the 57-year-old victim at his food cart on 40th St. and 7th Ave., authorities said.

After engaging in a verbal dispute, the suspect began to kick and punch the victim throughout his body before picking up a milk crate and throwing it at his head, according to cops.

The suspect also threw multiple traffic cones at the victim before fleeing the scene, police said.

Part of the assault was captured on cellphone video.

EMS workers transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital to be treated for his injuries which included a laceration to his head.

The individual is described as having a  dark complexion, approximately 6'2" tall, weighing about 160 lbs., athletic build, with short close cut dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black surgical mask, black sweatpants, a black t-shirt, a backpack and gray Crocs.
