NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly pushed a subway rider into a moving train at a Bronx station last month, authorities said Wednesday as they released surveillance photos of the suspect.

According to police, the attack happened around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at the Fordham Road/Grand Concourse subway station in Fordham Heights on the southbound D line.

Investigators say that the 47-year-old victim was standing on the platform when an unidentified man approached him and suddenly shoved him into an arriving D train.

The victim did not fall onto the tracks. However, his head struck the side of the moving train, and left him with injuries to his face and mouth.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the station after the assault and has not been caught.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
