NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man on a scooter punched an NYPD traffic agent in the face and menaced him with a knife last week in the Bronx, police said Thursday as they put out a photo of the suspect.

The 26-year-old traffic agent was on duty and working at the corner of the Grand Concourse and East Tremont Avenue in Mount Hope shortly after 8 a.m. on Aug. 30 when his attacker rode up and started an argument with him.

During the dispute, the man punched the traffic agent in the face, police said. He also whipped out a knife and menaced him with it.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition with bruising to his face.
