NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD officer was attacked by several people in the Bronx on Monday, the department said.
The officer was attacked by multiple people in the vicinity of Lafayette Avenue, between Faile Street and Bryant Avenue in Hunts Point, around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, the NYPD said.
Police said the officer, who may have been attacked with a baseball bat, was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. The department couldn't immediately provide any additional information about the attack.
No one had been arrested in connection with the assault as of Monday afternoon, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
