NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An off-duty officer was critically injured in a stabbing in the Bronx on Friday, sources told 1010 WINS.

The off-duty cop was stabbed multiple times—including twice in the back and once in each arm—on Rochambeau Avenue, near East 206th Street, in the Norwood section, the sources said. A 911 call came in shortly before 2 p.m.

An eyewitness said the bloodied officer was running through the street chasing after someone, possibly a person breaking into a car, before he collapsed to the ground.

Dozens of detectives were in the area Friday afternoon as police searched for the stabber, who remained at large.

An updated schedule from Mayor Zohran Mamdani showed he was visiting an injured NYPD officer with Commissioner Jessica Tisch at Jacobi Medical Center.
