NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police launched an investigation after an off-duty NYPD officer was stabbed in the hand during a robbery at knifepoint that occurred in Queens early Sunday, officials said.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. when two unidentified suspects approached the off-duty officer near the intersection of Ruscoe Street and 177th Street, in Bricktown, authorities said.
At least one of the suspects was armed with a knife when the suspects demanded the victim's wallet and keys, stabbing the officer in his left hand during the incident, according to the NYPD.
An investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
