NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials arrested an off-duty NYPD Sergent early Thursday for drinking and driving in the Bronx, according to police.
The arrest happened at 3:20 a.m. on April 29, in the borough's Kingsbridge neighborhood after Mario A. Morales, a 47-year-old NYPD Sergeant was discovered sleeping behind the wheel of his car in the middle of the street, authorities said.
Morales faces charges including Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal to Take a Breath Test, officials said.
In 2011, Morales was arrested after he repeatedly threatened to kill the mother of his child via text message, police said.
During the two-hour dispute, Morales allegedly wrote the woman "I don’t want to end up doing something crazy." and that she should "feel lucky I didn’t kill you," law-enforcement sources told the New York Post.
The court issued a temporary order of protection against Morales, ordering him to have no contact with his ex.
