NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A police officer shot at a man they said lunged at cops with a kitchen knife inside of a Brooklyn home Monday evening, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. on Hawthorne Street, near Troy and Albany avenues after officers were called to the home in East Flatbush for a domestic incident, officials said.

Authorities said the suspect lunged at police, prompting one officer to fire at least one shot at the man.
The suspect was not struck, officials said.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
He remains in police custody but has not yet been charged, authorities said.
