Stuck in heavy traffic, cops said the mom-to-be and her husband flagged down officers to their location in front of 801 Second Avenue before 4 p.m.
Police said EMS soon responded and helped deliver their baby girl.
The family was transported to NYU Medical Center and both are in good condition, authorities said.
The New York Post, which first reported the Tesla delivery, noted the black X model has a starting price tag at $105,000.
Police have not released their identities.
