NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A patient threatened an EMS worker, bit him and stole an ambulance early Monday morning, according to police.
The 21-year-old on-duty EMS worker told police that their patient displayed a knife while in transport near the Bronx Zoo.
Police say after a struggle between the two, the EMS worker was bitten, punched and scratched.
The victim and his partner managed to get out of the ambulance, and the man, identified as Daniel Corby, took off in the vehicle, police say.
The EMS worker went to a hospital in stable condition. The ambulance was later recovered.
The 26-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with multiple counts of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
