NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Pete Davidson was seen purchasing a dog at a Manhattan pet store causing dismay from PETA according to a report from TMZ on Monday.

The comedian and his girlfriend, actress Chase Sui Wondersm were spotted picking up a cavapoo puppy last month from a Citipups, a pet store located in Chelsea.

"It's tragic that Pete didn’t seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match," Daphna Nachminovitch, Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations at PETA, told TMZ.

"Since shelters in New York and across the country are overflowing with homeless animals, PETA urges Pete to show some big heart energy by adopting, not shopping, in the future," she added.

Davidson purchased the puppy for his mom, after her dog, Henry, recently died, sources told the outlet.

The dog Henry, died at two years old.
