NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two construction workers were seriously injured after a building partially collapsed Friday afternoon in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, authorities said.

The two workers were rescued and transported to the Kings County Hospital Center, according to the FDNY.

The ceiling of a five-story residential building crumbled while it was under construction, leaving the two workers trapped inside, according to police and FDNY officials.

"FDNY members continue operating on scene of a structural collapse at a construction site at 439 Lincoln Road in Brooklyn," the FDNY tweeted at 2:10 p.m.

Dozens of firefighters responded to building on Lincoln Road, at the corner New York Avenue.

It was not immediately clear what caused the collapse.
