NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Workers installed the 2023 New Year’s Eve ball in Times Square on Tuesday ahead of this weekend's ball drop.

Photos from atop One Times Square on a chilly morning show workers installing Waterford crystal triangles featuring this year’s “Gift of Love” design.

The design is “represented by a circle of overlapping hearts entwined together,” according to the Times Square Alliance.

A total of 192 new crystal triangles were added to the ball, replacing about a 10th of the ball's 2,688 triangles.

The 12-foot, 11,875-pound ball will drop at midnight on Saturday night to ring in the new year.
