Man who drew swastika in snow outside historic UES synagogue arrested: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Manhattan man who allegedly drew a swastika in the snow outside the historic Temple Emanu-El on the Upper East Side in February has been arrested, the NYPD said Thursday.

Manuel Barrera, 50, of East Harlem, was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment Thursday morning, police said. His attorney information wasn't immediately available.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD showed a man walking up to the front doors of the synagogue at 5th Avenue and East 65th Street around 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 2.

Moments later, the man walked over to a patch of snow near the synagogue's steps and drew a swastika with his finger, the video showed.
