NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police shot and killed a pit bull that attacked its owner in Queens on Monday, sources said.
NYPD officers responded around 9 p.m. to a report of a dangerous animal at 414 Beach 58th St. in Far Rockaway.
Officers found the dog biting the woman and opened fire, police said.
The woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition with bite injuries.
The pit bull, which belonged to the woman who was attacked, died from its injuries, sources said.
