NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police opened fire at a group of people who allegedly tried to steal multiple luxury cars at a Queen auto repair shop Friday morning.

Officers responded to a call of a burglary in process at Express Auto Repair Service on 33rd Avenue in Flushing, where upon arrival the thieves jumped into five separate cars from the shop and attempted to drive off.

One officer fired twice at the suspects. It is unclear if any shots were fired at police.

Four of the five stolen cars were recovered—including a busted Porsche and a Mercedes. Sources told 1010 WINS that two suspects were in custody on Friday evening.
