NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — The NYPD released a photo on Sunday of a man wanted for beating a victim over the head with a metal pipe multiple times while the two were engaged in a dispute last month.
At 3:40 a.m. on Jan. 30, a 36-year-old man was in an altercation with a stranger in front of 83 Baxter Street in lower Manhattan, police said.
The stranger escalated the dispute and began to strike the victim over the head with a metal pipe, officials said.
Authorities said that the victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
The suspect, who is described by police as 5'5" and having a small build, was last seen heading northbound on Baxter Street on foot. He was wearing a blue hat, black jacket with a yellow dragon on the arm, multicolored pants and black sneakers, cops said.
