NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Pop-up vaccination sites will open at or near early voting locations in New York City and Long Island this weekend before Tuesday's primary election, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday.
The five sites in the city and one in Suffolk County are part of nine pop-up sites opening at polling places statewide (locations and hours below).
There will be one pop-up site in each of the five boroughs. All of them will be open Saturday before early voting wraps up Sunday ahead of Tuesday's primary election.
Cuomo said the sites are targeting areas where the vaccination rates are lower than the statewide average.
"We know some areas are still lagging in getting people vaccinated, and these new pop-up sites at early voting locations will allow New Yorkers to perform two civic duties at once - casting their ballot and rolling up their sleeve," the governor said in a statement.
