NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has signed a lease for a large Times Square flagship location, the New York Post reported on Friday.
The new two-story store will be located in the Bowtie Building at 1530 Broadway between West 44th and 45th streets and is over 6,100 square feet, according to the outlet.
The asking rent was $800 per square foot but the final price is currently unknown.
The store is expected to open in the spring or summer of 2022, following the reopening of Broadway and the return of thousands of office workers to the area.
“Sales have stayed strong despite the pandemic," said Louis Franco of Isa Realty Group, who was the lead broker for the Popeyes store. "We felt there was no better opportunity for Popeyes to open its flagship in the heart of the Bowtie.”
The fast-food chain will also launch a new line of chicken nuggets on July 27 to following the success of its chicken sandwich.
