NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An Asian man was attacked with a stick in Brooklyn's Prospect Park over the weekend in a midday assault that’s being investigated as a hate crime, police said Wednesday.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force released surveillance images of the suspect they’re searching for in Saturday afternoon’s attack.

The 46-year-old victim was in the park at 12:20 p.m. when a man hurled anti-Asian insults at him and beat his body with a stick.

The attacker was last seen fleeing the park on foot.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS.
