Queens couple attacked with hammer after road rage incident on Christmas Day

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A man and a woman were attacked by a driver with a hammer during a road rage incident on Christmas Day in Queens, police said.

The victims, a 22-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man got into a fight with another driver at the intersection of 37th Avenue and 93rd Street in Jackson Heights.


Both cars then pulled over.

The suspect attacked the couple with a hammer at around 5:30 p.m.

The woman was struck in the head and suffered a minor head injury, and the man was struck in the back, according to police reports.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The attacker fled the scene in his car.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation is ongoing.
