
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The manager of a Queens CVS pharmacy was stabbed as he confronted a shoplifter on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The 44-year-old manager intervened as a man stole cough medicine and other items from the CVS at Queens Boulevard and 71st Road in Forest Hills around 12:30 p.m., according to police.
As the manager tried to stop the man, the thief punched him in the face and stabbed him in the hand, police said.
The suspect fled down Queens Boulevard with about $200 in cough medicine and shampoo, the New York Post reported.
The manager was hospitalized in stable condition.
