Driver, pedestrian arrested for brawling with canes at Queens intersection

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A driver and pedestrian got into a fight at a Queens intersection on Thursday morning, and it escalated to physical violence when the pair assaulted one another with canes, police said.

It happened at the intersection of Kissena Boulevard and Elder Avenue in Flushing at around 8:45 a.m., officials said.

The driver and pedestrian were involved in some type of dispute, and each pulled out a cane to use as a weapon. Police said that they then used the mobility aids to hit one another over the head.

The crux of the dispute that led to the brawl was not immediately known.

Cops nabbed both assailants, and charges against them are pending.
