NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who was captured on surveillance video as he attacked a Queens hotel employee with a knife Sunday morning.
According to the NYPD, at 6:15 hours a 33-year-old male employee of La Quinta Inn located at 37-18 Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside was approached by the unidentified man who was loitering inside of the hotel.
The 33-year-old employee asked him to leave, and the unidentified man then approached the front desk and asked the victim for a bottle of water, according to officials.
The victim stepped out from behind the reception desk in order to hand the suspect male a bottle of water, authorities said.
That's when the suspect produced a knife and a struggle ensued, the video shows.
The suspect slashed the victim's hands and left ear and then fled on foot, officials said.
The hotel worker was transported in stable condition to New York Health + Hospitals/ Elmhurst.
