NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An MTA bus driver was injured by flying glass when a road-raging motorist threw an object through his bus’ window in Upper Manhattan on Tuesday evening.

The driver was behind the wheel of a Bx20 bus at Sherman and 10th avenues in Inwood shortly before 6 p.m. when a man chucked an object through the window, according to police.
The object shattered the window, sending glass into the driver’s eye, police said. No passengers were injured.
The driver was transported to New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital to be treated for an eye injury.
It’s unclear what sparked the road dispute as the investigation continues.
NYC Transit President Richard Davey released a strongly worded statement in response to the assault—just the latest attack on a city transit worker.
“Lunatic perpetrators who attack a bus in service deserve the consequences they face when the NYPD finds them and delivers them to justice,” Davey said.
“We are hoping for the bus operator's rapid recovery and are incredibly fortunate no riders were injured,” Davey continued.
No arrests had been reported as of Wednesday.
