NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A robber pistol-whipped a worker during an attempted robbery at a U.S. post office in East Harlem, police said Wednesday as they released an image of the suspect.

The employee, a 51-year-old woman, was working at the post office located at 153 East 110th St. around 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 when the man walked in waving a gun and demanded money, according to cops.

He then struck the worker over the head with the firearm, police said.

He ultimately fled empty-handed on a red and white bicycle that was last seen headed westbound on East 110th Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries and declined further medical attention at the scene.
