NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a suspect who shot and robbed a man during an argument on a Bronx street last month.
It happened at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, on 221st Street near Bronxwood Avenue in Williamsbridge.
Police said that the 61-year-old victim was in front of a residential building when he was approached by the suspect, who began a verbal fight with him.
As the argument escalated, the suspect forcibly removed the victim’s book bag, pulled out a gun and shot him once in the left leg. He then fled the scene in a vehicle, police said.
Medics responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
Police released surveillance images of the suspect late Sunday night, and described him as a man between the ages of 20 and 25 with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers, a dark-colored mask and sunglasses.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
