NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A pair of attackers pretending to be police officers broke into a Queens home, tased a 77-year-old man, bound the man and his wife with zip ties, then fled with $20,000 in cash and jewelry, according to a report.

Moustafa Sharoozi told the New York Post he and his wife were inside their home on Sanford Avenue in Flushing around 11:30 p.m. on Monday when the two men knocked on their door.

The men were dressed as police officers and wearing N95 masks, he told the outlet. After he let them in, one of them tased him, he said.

The two men restrained Sharoozi and his 66-year-old wife with duct tape and zip ties, tased him again and started searching the home, the outlet reported.

The robbers fled with around $10,000 in cash and $10,000 worth of jewelry, according to the outlet.

"[My wife] had gone out earlier that day to collect rent money from local tenants with the intent to deliver it to a property owner she works for," Sharoozi explained to the outlet.

The Queens resident "thought they were going to shoot us, but they never did," he said. He called 911 soon after they left.

The pair hadn't been arrested as of Tuesday evening. An investigation is ongoing.
