NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Monday released surveillance footage of a crew wanted in a string of robberies that targeted kids as young as 13 in the Bronx.
The first incident happened at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, in the vicinity of the Cross Bronx Expressway and Virginia Avenue in Parkchester where a 23-year-old man was approached by the group who stole his jacket then fled the location on foot, officials said.
The victim was treated by EMS on scene, but was not hospitalized.
At about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, a 17-year-old girl was in front of 1592 Westchester Ave. in Soundview when she was approached by the crew who snatched her necklace before fleeing on foot. The victim was not injured.
The crew then targeted a 13-year-old boy at about 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in the vicinity of Bronx River Avenue and East 174th Street in Soundview and stole his iPhone and iPad before fleeing the location on foot.
The boy was not injured as a result of this incident.
A fourth incident happened at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, inside of Starlight Park located at 1490 Sheridan Blvd. when a 17-year-old boy was approached and robbed of his jacket, backpack, and laptop. The group then fled the location on foot. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
Days later just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, a 15-year-old boy was approached by the group who stole his's iPhone, backpack, and wallet inside at the same park. The group fled the location on foot. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
A week later on Dec. 14., the crew struck again around 6:45 p.m. at Metropolitan Avenue and McGraw Avenue in Parkchester. According to police, a 22-year-old man was approached by the group who stole his jacket and Apple Air Pods. The suspects fled location on foot. The man was not injured as a result of this incident.
The latest robberies happened within 10 minutes of each other on Dec. 14. A 17-year-old boy was robbed of his jacket and iPhone at 2026 Westchester Ave. around 6:50 p.m., and then a 14-year-old boy was robbed of his sneakers, jacket and $100 at Manor Avenue and East 172nd Street in Soundview at 7 p.m., police said. Neither victim was seriously injured.
