NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A search is underway for a 15-year-old girl missing in the East River near Roosevelt Island on Friday, authorities said.
According to officials, the teen was reported missing at 688 Main St. at around 12:15 p.m.
She was wearing a floral bathing suit. A pocketbook, shoes and clothing believed to belong to the girl have been recovered.
The NYPD and coastguard rescue boats are covering the entire river with their search.
It is unclear how the girl got into the water.
An investigation is ongoing.
