The Staten Island Advance reports the "octopus" could be a reference to the opioid epidemic.

In a criminal complaint, Jonathan Alvalle is accused of threatening the victim, allegedly saying "I am going to get you" during the Sept. 17 incident on Park Avenue near Ann Street.

The complaint adds the victim felt “fear of imminent physical injury, serious physical injury and fear for his physical safety” during the incident.

Alvalle, who was previously convicted of robbery in 2005, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was released under supervision and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20.
