No injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

The FDNY considered the incident closed at 12:11 p.m., and the Department of Environmental Protection took over the scene.

“DEP crews are investigating the infrastructure buried under the roadway to ensure everything is operating correctly. They will make the area safe for the public until a full repair can be completed,” a spokesman for the DEP told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880.

Q8 buses were detoured in either direction due to the sinkhole, but they are back operating on a normal schedule, the MTA said.
