NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a gunman who opened fire on two sisters inside a Brooklyn apartment building Thursday night.
The shooting is believed to be a domestic violence incident with police naming the ex-boyfriend of one of the women as the primary suspect.
At around 10:30 p.m., officials responded to a 911 call for an assault at an apartment on Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Upon arrival they discovered a 21-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times and her 40-year-old sister with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Both women were taken to an area hospital where the 21-year-old victim remains in critical condition. Her older sister is also receiving treatment for her injuries.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
