STABBED IN STARBUCKS: Skateboarder attacks man in East Village coffee shop, flees towards park

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A skateboarder stabbed a man inside of an East Village Starbucks on Tuesday morning before he fled towards Tompkins Square Park, police said.

The 41-year-old victim was stabbed in the torso around 6:15 a.m. inside the coffee shop at St. Marks Place and Avenue A.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. He's expected to survive his injuries, police said.

The bald suspect fled on the skateboard and was last seen heading towards Tompkins Square Park, according to police.

It wasn't immediately clear what precipitated the stabbing. No other injuries were reported.
