NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police arrested a man who allegedly slashed and stabbed three people–including a sleeping subway rider—during a rampage in Brooklyn on Sunday.

The suspect—Abraham Kentish, 27—was arrested at Linden Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, about 90 minutes after his alleged rampage began.

The violence started at the Blake Avenue Shelter, a homeless shelter at Linwood Street and Blake Avenue where Kentish is a resident.

Inside of the shelter around 1:45 a.m., Kentish slashed a 38-year-old man across the face and stabbed a 70-year-old man in the chest.

He then took to the streets, boarded a 4 train at the New Lots Avenue station and slashed a 26-year-old man in the neck as he slept on the train, police said.

The three victims were transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where they were all in stable condition.

Kentish was arrested on three counts of felony assault.
