NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Paul McCartney sent hundreds of New Yorkers running to the Lower East Side on Tuesday when he announced a surprise, intimate show for that night with no online ticket sales.

The music legend made a social media post at noon promoting the event, which he dubbed “PAUL McCARTNEY ROCKS THE BOWERY.”

Tickets were sold in person on a first come, first served basis with a limit of one ticket per person. The venue’s box office ran out in record time.

In his post, McCartney warned: “Avoid purchasing tickets from third-party vendors. Fake tickets will not be honoured and entry will be declined.”

The show will be held at Bowery Ballroom, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and McCartney set to hit the stage at 6:30 p.m.

The venue has a capacity of approximately 600, meaning that “The Beatles” legend will be performing a significantly more intimate show than he does at the large-scale venues he normally fills.

McCartney spent the end of 2024 wrapping his Got Back Tour, which originally began in 2022 and ended with a special London show in December that featured Ringo Starr and Ronnie Wood.

The music icon went viral this past weekend after being photographed dining at a New Orleans restaurant the day before the Super Bowl, which he attended, though it is likely he remains in New York City this week ahead of his performance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special this weekend.
