NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police arrested Cyndi Lauper’s son for a stolen vehicle charge in Manhattan Thursday, authorities said.
Declyn “Dex” Lauper, 24, was busted around 1:40 a.m. after cops initially saw the 2014 Mercedes-Benz he was in illegally double parked at West 140th Street and Broadway in Harlem, police said.
Officers later determined the car was stolen and arrested Lauper on felony charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to the NYPD.
Lauper was released on a desk appearance ticket, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.
The singer’s son, who is a rapper and performs under the name Declyn Thornton, is the only child of Cyndi Lauper and her husband David Thornton.
