Van Zandt will be honored at a Manhattan event recognizing his contribution of $1.5 million in fundraised dollars toward the Detective’s Endowment Association Widows’ and Children’s Fund and the NYPD With Arms Wide Open.

“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Retired Detectives,” Van Zandt told The Post.

Van Zandt, who played the character Silvo Dante on the popular HBO series, said the fundraising was his way of thanking the police department “for the difficult and courageous job they do every day.”

“It’s a tough way to make a living and we don’t thank them often enough,” he said.

Van Zandt is also a member of Bruce Spingsteen’s E Street band.
