NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 19-year-old man riding a scooter was killed in a collision with a driver on the Upper East Side late Sunday night, authorities said.
At about 11:56 p.m. a white vehicle traveling eastbound on East 79th street near Second Avenue collided with a scooter traveling in the same direction, officials said.
The man driving the scooter was rushed to New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center and where he was pronounced dead.
The 26-year-old driver of the white vehicle remained on the scene before he was taken to New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
There have been no arrests made and an investigation remains ongoing.
