NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Outgoing Staten Island Rep. Max Rose is considering a run for New York City mayor, according to reports.

Rose, who lost his seat to Republican Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis when he ran for reelection last month, submitted paperwork to the city’s Campaign Finance Board on Thursday indicating that he plans to explore a 2021 mayoral run, the New York Post reported.

Were the Democratic congressman to launch a mayoral campaign, he would join a crowded field that includes Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, former de Blasio aide Maya Wiley and former Department of Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia, among others.

In a recent interview with WNYC, Staten Island Borough President Jimmy Oddo said it “seems Max Rose might be running for mayor,” the Post reported.
