NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A stray bullet hit a sleeping woman in the leg in Queens on Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.
The 30-year-old woman was asleep at a friend's house near Beach 81st Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Far Rockaway around 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday when she woke up and realized she had been shot, police said.
The woman made her way outside, where she called 911, the NYPD said.
She was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was treated for her injury, police said.
No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Tuesday afternoon, the NYPD said. An investigation is ongoing.
