Stray bullet shatters NYC classroom window; suspect sought: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A stray bullet shattered the window of a Lower East Side classroom Thursday morning, the NYPD said amid a search for the suspect.

Cops said the incident happened at around 10 a.m. when the round shattered the third-floor window at the Greater Oaks Charter School on Delancey and Forseythe Streets.

No one was inside inside the classroom at the time, police said.

Authorities said the school was not the gunman's intended target, but they are unsure who he was firing at.

Police had no other details.
