NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for two men after a subway rider was beaten with a handgun at the Columbus Circle subway station in Manhattan last week.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was at the 59 Street/Columbus Circle in Midtown last Friday afternoon when two men asked him "what he was looking at," police said.

One of the suspects then lifted his shirt to show off a handgun on his waistband, according to police.

The victim walked to the southbound 1 train platform, where the second suspect approached him and struck him in the face, head and hands with a handgun, police said.

The suspects fled towards the northbound A train platform after the attack, according to police.

The victim was treated by EMS at the scene.

Police released surveillance images of the suspects on Saturday.
