
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A subway rider was stabbed in the eye while inside a lower Manhattan station early Saturday morning, and police released surveillance footage of the suspect to enlist the help of the public.
The 57-year-old male victim was inside the 14th Street–Union Square subway station at about 12:46 a.m. when he got into a verbal argument with the suspect.
Police said that the suspect then stabbed the victim in the right eye with an unknown sharp object, before fleeing the station on foot.
Medics transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue for treatment of his eye injury in stable condition.
Surveillance footage of the suspect shows the individual jumping the subway turnstile in a black leather jacket, green hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and light colored sneakers.
