NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A subway attack in Queens early Monday morning left a man bloody and bruised, and the NYPD is still searching for the assailant.

The beating took place on a Manhattan-bound 7 train as it approached the 69th Street station in Woodside at about 1:40 a.m., police said.

The suspect was acting erratically near a 38-year-old man and yelling before escalating to violence and punching him in the face.

Police said the attacker then struck the man about the head with the butt of a knife.

Officials said that the victim got off the train at the next stop, Woodside-61st Street, while the brute who beat him stayed on board.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst to treat a head wound, after the 108th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 20 were alerted to the assault.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
