VIDEO: Suspect on moped sought in 10 gunpoint robberies at Bronx businesses

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities are searching for a man on a moped wanted in a series of gunpoint robberies at businesses in the Bronx.

The first incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, when a 55-year-old man was walking in front of 525 Barretto St. in Hunt's Point.


According to officials, the suspect approached the victim wearing a black helmet while on a motorcycle and displayed a firearm and stole approximately $1,100 from the victim's hand before fleeing on the moped northbound on Barretto Street towards Randall Avenue.

Minutes later, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the suspect entered a Check Cashing place located at 240 Randall Ave. and displayed a firearm and demanded money.

The employee complied and the suspect fled in a scooter to parts unknown with approximately $70.

At approximately 2:13 a.m., the suspect entered a Check Cashing place located at 416 East 149th St. and approached the counter while displaying a note demanding money.

The suspect then displayed a black firearm at a 60-year-old employee before fleeing on foot southbound on Bergen Avenue without taking any money or property.

The fourth incident happened just before 1 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, in front of Ke Sarricas Mobile Food located at 1249 Randall Ave., when the suspect approached the counter and displayed a firearm at a 20-year-old employee while demanding money.

The victim complied and the suspect fled westbound on Randall Avenue to parts unknown.

The suspect returned to the same location at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, where he approached a 45-year-old man and stole approximately $5 from his wallet and approximately $35 from inside the food truck.

The suspect fled in a blue moped heading westbound on Randall Avenue.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at approximately 8 a.m., the suspect entered Romero Fruit Market located at 835 152nd St. in Woodlawn and forcibly grabbed a 54-year-old employee towards the register while displaying a firearm.

The suspect stole approximately $120 and fled to parts unknown.

The last incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022.

The suspect entered the Rite Check Cashing located at 715 East 138th St. and passed a note demanding money. The suspect was unable to take cash and fled on a black moped northbound on Jackson Avenue.

There were no injuries as a result of any of the incidents reported.
