NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released an image Friday of a man they're searching for after a teen was beaten into a coma near Madison Square Garden after Wednesday night’s Knicks game.

The 17-year-old male victim was attacked outside Juniper Bar at 237 West 35th St. around 11:45 p.m. The bar is about two blocks north of the arena, where the game had just ended minutes prior.

According to sources, a content creator was streaming on his phone and yelled, "Spurs in seven!" That didn't sit well with nearby Knicks fans, including the 17-year-old, who yelled, "F*** the Spurs!" The streamer then lifted the teen up and threw him to the ground as the attack unfolded. Police said the teen was also punched and kicked throughout the body.

He suffered a seizure during the attack and subsequently went into a coma, according to the NYPD.

EMS transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition. The group fled the scene and remained at large Friday.

The gang assault came as dozens of people were arrested in Midtown Wednesday night following the Knicks’ historic fourth-quarter comeback over the San Antonio Spurs.

According to police, 56 people were taken into custody as “crowds became increasingly destructive” around the arena, jumping on top of vehicles, throwing glass bottles, getting into fights and setting off fireworks.

Ten NYPD members were among those injured, and four department vehicles were left with “significant damage,” police said.

Arrests were also made Monday night as chaos unfolded in Midtown following the Knicks' loss to the Spurs. A Spurs fan was attacked by a mob at Eighth Avenue, leading police to release images of multiple suspects wanted for that assault.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
