NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 21-year-old man was hit in the face with a cellphone and threatened to be killed by a stranger in a Manhattan subway station earlier this week, police said Wednesday as they released photos of the suspect.
Cops said the incident happened Monday at around 5:50 a.m. as the victim was standing on the N train platform at the Prince Street and Broadway station when he was approached by a stranger who struck him with a cellphone.
The suspect then threatened to kill the man if he ever came back to the station, authorities said. He then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Police said the victim sustained bleeding and bruising to his nose but refused medical attention at the scene.
The suspect is described as being in his 30's, 5'5" tall, 140 pounds with black hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red jacket, black sneakers and a blue hat.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
