Suspect wanted for beating man in Bronx carjacking

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage on Monday of a man wanted for beating another man in a Bronx carjacking that occurred last month.

It happened just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 6 when a 57-year-old man exited his parked vehicle in the rear of 2276 Westchester Ave. in Westchester Square.

According to officials, the man was approached by the suspect who began to repeatedly punch the victim in the head before stealing his wallet and phone.

The suspect then fled in the victim's 2018 Honda CRV southbound on Havemeyer Avenue.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray jeans, and white sneakers.
