NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The NYPD released images Thursday of a suspect in an unprovoked attack on a 71-year-old man at a subway station in NoHo.

The victim was brutally attacked around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, inside the Broadway–Lafayette Street/Bleecker Street station.

His attacker came up and punched him in the face multiple times, causing him to fall and hit his head on the subway platform, police said.

He suffered a laceration to his head and swelling to his face.

EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was in stable condition.

The attacker, who was pushing a hand truck, fled the scene, police said.
